Areas including Ratan Talao, Urdu Bazaar, Alamgir Society in Malir, Kashmir Colony Sector B, Jail Road, Jamshed Road, and multiple blocks of Gulistan-e-Jauhar remain without electricity.

Other affected neighborhoods include PECHS Block 7, North Nazimabad, Liaquatabad C-1 Area, and Merchant Navy Society Scheme 33, where residents continue to suffer due to the lack of power supply. Citizens have reported registering repeated complaints with K-Electric (KE), but claim that no effective measures have been taken to resolve the Karachi power outage crisis.

On the second day of heavy rain in Karachi, eleven more people tragically lost their lives, raising concerns over the city’s fragile infrastructure. Large-scale water accumulation on main roads severely disrupted traffic flow, leaving commuters stranded for hours. The situation worsened as piles of garbage and mud mixed with rainwater, adding to the misery of residents.

K-Electric Claims 94% Power Restoration After Karachi Heavy Rain

K-Electric CEO Moonis Alvi announced that electricity has been restored to over 94% of Karachi by Wednesday evening following the recent heavy rain in Karachi. He confirmed that repair work is still underway on nearly 150 feeders that remain affected.

However, the CEO admitted that restoration efforts are facing major hurdles due to waterlogged streets and continuous rainfall, which have made access to several localities difficult. Despite progress, many areas are still struggling with prolonged Karachi power outages, leaving residents frustrated.
