The National Disaster Management Authority (NDMA) has issued a Super Flood Alert in Sindh, warning of continuous water pressure in rivers Chenab, Ravi, and Sutlej. According to the authority, a major flow is expected to reach Guddu and Sukkur barrages between September 4 and 5, with discharge levels projected to range between 700,000 and 1.1 million cusecs.
Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah stated that preparations are in progress to deal with the possible super flood in Sindh. He mentioned that whether the flow reaches 900,000 or 1 million cusecs, the Kacha areas will inevitably submerge. The provincial government has already identified six sensitive points and is working closely with the Pakistan Army to safeguard Guddu and Sukkur barrages.
